Obituary for Alta Jaquet

Alta E. Jaquet, age 75, of South Shore, SD, passed away on Tuesday, December 13, 2022 in her home in South Shore, SD.

Funeral services will be at 2:00 p.m., Sunday, December 18, 2022 at Our Savior's Lutheran Church in South Shore with Pastor Ken Nelson officiating.

Visitation will be from 4:00-6:00 p.m., Saturday, December 17, 2022 at Wight & Comes Funeral Chapel in Watertown.

Burial will be at a later date.

Pallbearers will be Charles, Jim, and Steve Werner, Rodney Noeldner, Levi Boyle and Ed Steinlicht.

Alta Elizabeth Jaquet was born to Milo and Amy (Williams) Johnson on April 18, 1947 in Arcadia, WI. She grew up in Strum, WI where she attended school and graduated from Eleva-Strum Central High School. She then received her nursing education, MSN at California State University in Chico. She married Theodore Wilson on August 12, 1972 in Harlem, MT. The couple was blessed with two sons, Theodore and Colin.

On December 7, 1991, Alta married Kenneth Jaquet in Milbank, SD. She took pride working in the medical field as a nurse/educator.

She was a member of WELS Lutheran of Our Savior's Lutheran Church in South Shore, SD.

She enjoyed gardening, cooking, crafting, collecting collectibles, the races and miscellaneous Terry Redlin items.

She is best known with her thankful attitude to always say, “Thank you, thank you, thank you”.

Left to cherish Alta's memory are her sons, Theodore (Heather) Wilson of South Shore, SD, and Colin (Amanda) Wilson of Mountain Lake, MN, four grandchildren, Levi and Carleigh Boyle and Hannah and Logan Wilson; and her sister, Margaret Werner of South Shore, SD.

She was preceded in death by her first husband, Theodore Wilson; her second husband, Kenneth Jaquet; her brother, Jim Johnson; her parents, Milo and Amy Johnson; and many in-laws, nieces and nephews.
