Obituary for Antoinette Patricia "Toni" Cordell

Antoinette "Toni" Cordell, 89, of Omaha, NE, formerly of Watertown, SD, passed away, surrounded by her family, on Thursday, September 12, 2019 in Omaha, NE.

Visitation will be from 5-7 p.m., with a rosary at 7:00 p.m. on Sunday, September 15th at the Wight & Comes Funeral Chapel in Watertown, SD.

Funeral mass will be at 10:00 a.m., Monday, September 16, 2019 at the Immaculate Conception Church in Watertown with Father Richard Fox as celebrant.

Burial will be at St. Mary's Cemetery, Watertown.

Honorary Pallbearers will be Toni's grandchildren: Jessica McVay, Rachel Cliff, Jeanette Kleppinger, Thomas Pryor, Kelly Cordell, Johanna Cordell, Sean Murphy, Kennedy Briscoe and Brayden Briscoe.

Antoinette Patricia Cordell, daughter of Anton and Lucy (DeVille) Bohls was born on September 29, 1929 in Waverly, SD. She grew up on a farm near Waverly and attended school in Waverly, graduating from Waverly High School in 1947.

On May 2, 1950, she married Thomas P. Cordell in Watertown where the couple made their home. Toni was employed at JH Larson Electric. In 1972, They moved to Omaha where Toni was an administrative assistant at the University of Nebraska Medical Center in the Human Resource Department until her retirement. Her husband, Thomas passed away in June 6, 1986.

Toni was a member of St. Thomas More Church in Omaha. She enjoyed gardening, shopping, following the stock market, playing cards and watching sports.

Toni is survived by her children, Roxanne (James) Stephens of Rapid City, SD, Gary (Deborah) Cordell of Cedar Rapids, IA, Susan (Michael) Pryor and Kathleen (Kenneth) Briscoe of Omaha, NE; 9 grandchildren; and 12 great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; and four sisters, Barbara Mack, Elizabeth Malloy, Bernice O'Hara and Pauline Kranz.
