Obituary for Beverly E. Torgerson

Beverly E. (David) Torgerson, age 87, of Watertown, SD, passed away on Thursday, December 1, 2022.

Visitation will be from 4-6:00 pm, Tuesday, December 6, 2022 at the Wight & Comes Funeral Chapel in Watertown.

Funeral services will be at 10:30 am, on Wednesday, December 7, 2022 at St. Martin's Lutheran Church in Watertown with Pastor Paul Kuckhahn officiating.

Beverly's service will be recorded and posted on her obituary page when available.

Burial will be at Mount Hope Cemetery, Watertown, SD.

Beverly Eldora (David) Torgerson, the eldest child of Otto and Minnie (McPeek) David, was born on November 8, 1935 in Watertown, SD. She was baptized and confirmed in the Lutheran faith and is a member of St. Martin's Lutheran Church.

She started school at Richland #6 in Codington County and when the family moved in 1943 she attended Richland District #34 in Codington County, graduating from Watertown High School in 1953.

The summer after graduation she began working at the local Ford dealer, Rozum Brothers Motor Company, as a bookkeeper and office manager. In August of 1959 she joined the staff at the Farmers and Merchants Bank and Trust of Watertown and later at Great Western Bank for over 40 years.

Beverly was united in marriage to LeRoy J. Torgerson on September 22, 1957 at St. Martin's Lutheran Church in Watertown. They made their home on the west shore of Lake Kampeska where they lived for 50 years. She then moved to Jenkins Living Center.

Beverly's hobbies included flowers and gardening, bowling, ceramics, and traveling.

Beverly is survived by her sister, Linda (Alan) Kranz of Kranzburg; her brother, Dwayne David of Henry; nieces, Jolene Kranz and Cindy (Sean) Curtis; nephew, Scott (Jessica) Kranz; great niece, Paige Kranz; great nephew, Boyd Kranz; sisters-in-law, Mary (Bill) Ramynke, Karen Ward and Linda Ward; brother-in-law, Jack (Sandy) Ward; and many nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, LeRoy; her sister, Elverda David; and her brother-in-law, Virgil Ward.
