Obituary for Brian Hartman

Brian R. Hartman, age 58, of Sioux Falls, SD, passed away on Wednesday, October 3, 2018 at his residence.

Visitation will be from 6:00-7:00 p.m. with his memorial service to follow at 7:00 p.m. on Saturday, October 27, 2018 at the Wight & Comes Funeral Chapel with Pastor Luke Smith officiating. Music will be furnished by Bill Hartman and Larry Keyes as vocalists and Lori Koenecke as organist.

Inurnment will be at the Rose Hill Cemetery, Clark, SD.

Brian Reed Hartman was born to Robert and Sheryl (Reed) Hartman on November 6, 1959 in Watertown, SD. He grew up and attended school in Sioux Falls, Fargo and then Sioux City. He graduated from Sioux City East High School. Brian was currently working as a warehouse manager in Sioux Falls.

Brian enjoyed playing hockey and while in high school he was an outstanding hockey player. He played with the Sioux City Musketeers for two years and then at Bemidji State College for two years until an injury hampered his career. He was chosen as a member of the United States Jr. Hockey Team and played in the World Tournament in Switzerland. In 1995 Brian was inducted into the Sioux City Musketeer Hockey Hall of Fame.

Brian also enjoyed fishing and hunting.

Brian is survived by his father, Robert W. Hartman and his special friend, Teena Cuenco of Sioux Falls, SD; his siblings, Steven (Linette) Hartman of Fargo, ND, Michael Hartman of Sioux City, IA, Lynn Manrique of Sioux Falls, SD, Brent Hartman of Watertown, SD, and Mary Kay (Duane) Fonger of Superior, WI; and six nephews and one niece.

He was preceded in death by his mother, Sheryl Ann Reed Hartman.
