Bryan Dean Arendsee, age 56, of Watertown, passed away on Friday, February 14, 2020 at Avera McKennan Hospital in Sioux Falls, after an extended illness, awaiting a liver/kidney transplant.

Funeral mass will be at 10:30 a.m., Wednesday, February 19, 2020 at Holy Name of Jesus Church in Watertown with Father Ken Koster officiating. Blaine Martian will be the song leader accompanied by Laura Atwood.

Visitation will be from 5-8 p.m., with a scripture service at 7:00 p.m. followed by a time for sharing memories on Tuesday, February 18, 2020 at Wight & Comes Funeral Chapel in Watertown.

Inurnment will be in the spring at Lake Poinsett Cemetery, Lake Poinsett, SD.

Pallbearers will be Randy Brownlee, Dave Kluckman, Bob Boettcher, Jeff Mennis, Vince Foley, Adam Sullivan and Joel Williams.

Bryan Dean Arendsee was born on November 25, 1963 to Russell and Betty (Wilkins) Arendsee in Aberdeen, SD. He grew up in Aberdeen and the family moved to Brookings, SD where he attended school, graduating from Brookings High School in 1982. He then earned a degree from Canby Vocational School.

On August 3, 1984 Bryan married Natalie J. Hawley in Brookings. In 1985 they moved to Watertown where Bryan became the owner of Watertown Tire Center. Together they raised three children, Amanda, Justin and Adam. Later, he was the facilities manager at Wurth Electronics for two years.

Bryan loved hockey. As a young man, Bryan played hockey all through his high school years, and then coached his own sons. He enjoyed the outdoors, and Lake Poinsett was his happy place. He especially loved Sunday night suppers with his family every week.

A special thank you to Avera Transplant Team and the ICU Staff for the outstanding care of Bryan and his family.

Bryan is lovingly missed by his wife, Natalie; his children, Amanda (Dustin) Spaniol, Justin (Natalie) Arendsee, and Adam Arendsee all of Watertown, SD; two grandchildren, Olivia Spaniol and Waylon Arendsee; his parents, Russ and Betty Arendsee of Lake Poinsett, SD; his brother, Mike (Susan) Arendsee of Montrose, CO; and his sister, Teresa (Matthias) Johnson of Westminster, CO; and numerous nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents-in-law, LeRoy and Marilyn Hawley.

Bryan was one of the good guys - always had a smile and always wanted the best for his customers. He treated us like family. We are saddened to hear of his passing, and you and your family are in our prayers.
