Carla Marie Frost was born to Gordon and Donna (Erdman) Hanson on September 22, 1953 in Watertown, SD. She grew up in Plymouth, MN, and graduated from Hopkins High School in Minnetonka, MN. On January 22, 1977 she married Theodore "Ted" Frost in Golden Valley, MN. Four children, Jessica, Joseph, Jamie and Jacob were born to this union.

Carla worked as a dietician at Jenkins Nursing Home and then worked at Premier Bankcard both in Watertown, SD.

Carla embodied kindness, empathy, compassion, and generosity. She truly had the gift of giving. Family, friends, and even mere acquaintances received countless thoughtful gifts of her creation. Carla loved to sew baby blankets and baby socks.

She was an avid reader. Her vocabulary was expansive. She attributed this to her reading. Something that could be said in a few words, she would say in a descriptive many.

The joy of her life was her family. She worried about everyone to an ultimate degree. Even in her final days, her actions were to ensure her family’s well-being. She was extremely proud of her children and expressed her love to them with every encounter.

Carla loved her grandchildren immensely and had a close relationship with Tyler, Carter, and Addison. She enjoyed playing pranks on them. She made Christmas a grand occasion and went above and beyond every year.

She was known to say playfully about Ted, “After 46 years, I almost have him trained”. This was achieved through a clever banter they both practiced and perfected. Of the many kind messages received after Carla’s passing, one was noted to say, “She was the one of the nicest people I had the pleasure of knowing. I am blessed to have known her”. No truer words can be said.

Grateful for having shared in her life are her husband, Ted; her children, Jessica Frost, Joseph (Heather) Frost and Jamie Frost of Watertown; five grandchildren, Laney Ulschmid of Henry, Damian Frost of Redfield, and Tyler, Carter and Addison Frost of Watertown; one sister, Ann Kantola of Negaunee, MI; stepsister, Tracy Romey of Oelrichs, SD; two stepbrothers, Michael Hanson of Sioux Falls and Kelly Hanson of SD.

She was preceded in death by her son Jacob, her father Gordon Hanson, and her mother Donna Jean Erdman-Sonnenberg.
