Carrie Kim Hartshorn, age 59, of Watertown, SD, passed away on Thursday, November 1, 2018 in Watertown. Funeral services will be at 10:30 a.m., Monday, November 5, 2018 at St. Martin's Lutheran Church in Watertown with Pastor Paul Janke officiating. Music will be provided by the Children's Jubilate Choir accomapnied by Carol Janke. Visitation will be from 4-7 p.m., Sunday, November 4, 2018 at the Wight & Comes Funeral Chapel in Watertown and for one hour prior to the service at the church. Interment will be at Mt. Hope Cemetery, Watertown, SD. Pallbearers will be Ryan Fisher, Eugene Reiffenberger, Alan Severson, Zak Coates, Andy Coates and Bruce Lanars. The family requests memorials to be designated to the St. Martin's Lutheran Church-"Telling The Next Generation". Carrie Kim Hartshorn was born to Robert and Janice (Weelborg) Fisher on July 2, 1959 at the Swedish Hospital in Minneapolis, MN. She grew up in Blaine, MN where she attended school and graduated from Spring Lake Park High School in 1977. Kim worked as a bookkeeper/property owner and wife, mother, grandmother, sister and friend. Kim married Michael Douglas Hartshorn on June 6, 1987 at Christ Lutheran in Blaine, MN. The couple lived in Aberdeen, SD from 1987-2000 when they moved to Watertown where Kim owned and managed residential and commercial property. She was also a homemaker and bookkeeper until the present time. She did volunteer work at Great Plains Lutheran High School and was a member of St. Martin's Ladies Club. Kim loved spending time with her family and grandchildren, gardening, outdoor activities and living at the lake. Left to cherish her memory are her husband, Mike Hartshorn of Watertown; her daughter, Melissa Ann Garas and her children, Shahd, Jamal and Faisal Garas of Watertown; her stepchildren, Summer Marie Hartshorn (Kosta) Vasilas and their children, Teddy, Lexie, Grace and Michael of Denver, CO and Jordan Douglas Hartshorn (fiance' Ashley Meyer) and their children, Ava and Norah of Milford, IA; and her sister, Tamara Ann (Bruce) Lanars and their daughters, Alicia and Brittany Lanars of Dayton, MN. She was preceded in death by her mother, Janice on March 20, 1987 and her father, Robert on January 5, 2010.
