Curtis was born in Litchfield, MN to his parents, Martin Christensen and Nancy (Gagnon) Christensen. Curtis was a loving son, brother, uncle, great uncle, and friend to many. He attended grade school in Montevideo, MN and Ortonville, MN. He attended high school at Milbank High in Milbank, SD. Then shortly after high school he joined the Job Corps where he completed his GED and enlisted in the United States Army as a Wheeled Vehicle Repairer.

Curtis was discharged from the Army under honorable conditions and moved back to Milbank, SD, where he worked in a machine shop as a mechanic. He then moved to Sioux Falls, SD with a group of friends and worked at John Morrell’s, and kept busy with construction, mechanical and electrical work. Curtis stayed in Sioux Falls, where he lived for the remainder of his life.

Curtis loved the challenge of taking things apart, understanding how things worked, then trying to put them back together. He enjoyed documentaries and learning all about the world around him. He was a craftsman with his hands, working with electronics and construction. He enjoyed the challenge of creating something unique out of someone else’s junk. As the saying goes, another man’s junk was his treasure. He collected unique fossils found in nature and made key chains, necklaces, and bead bracelets. Curtis enjoyed bike riding, either his pedal bike or his motorcycle, he loved them both. He always worked on his vehicle and motorcycle, always trying to upgrade his ride.

Curtis was a straightforward person. He was truthful and didn’t hesitate to say what was on his mind. Curtis was an open book with a heart of gold. He always shared his wisdom and knowledge with others around him. He would make conversation with anyone and was a jack of all trades.

Curtis is survived by his mother, Nancy Christensen, Watertown, SD, his sister, Karyn Christensen, Watertown, SD, half sister, Ann (Wes) Torke, Lucan, MN, half brother, Marty (Stephanie) Christensen Jr, Wilmer, MN, niece, Kendra (Bryon) Westenberg and great nephew, Beau David, Prior Lake, MN.
