Obituary for Darwin L. "Lee" Rindels

Darwin “Lee” Rindels, age 78, of Watertown passed away Saturday, January 29, 2022.

Funeral services will be 11:00 am, Friday, February 4, 2022 at Cornerstone United Methodist Church in Watertown with Pastor Steve Anderson.

Visitation will be from 5-7:00 pm, February 3, 2022 at Wight and Comes Funeral Chapel in Watertown.

Interment will be at Mt. Hope Cemetery in Watertown with military honors by the NE SD Vietnam Veterans of America Chapter 1054 and the US Navy Funeral Honors Team.

In lieu of flowers memorials may be designated to the youth programs at Cornerstone Church.

Pallbearers will be Scott Bohls, Todd Bohls, Neil Hammer, Russ Burnison, Brad Griepp and James Pietz.

Darwin Lee Rindels, son James and Ardis B. (Pagel) Rindels, was born October 14, 1943 in Watertown, South Dakota. Lee graduated from Watertown High School and then joined the United States Navy and served four years on a destroyer. After being honorably discharged Lee attended Lake Area Tech in Watertown earning a two year drafting degree. Lee worked as a carpenter in residential remodeling and building.

Lee married Letitia “Tish” Parliament on July 5, 1968 at First United Methodist Church in Watertown. The couple lived and worked in New Mexico, South Dakota and Minnesota.

Lee enjoyed spending time with family and friends. He also enjoyed hunting, fishing, gunsmithing, working jigsaw and crossword puzzles.

He is survived by his wife, Tish of Watertown, SD; his sister-in-law, Charlene (Neil) Hammer of Alexandria, MN; brother-in-law, Curt (Katie) Parliament of Hazel, SD; eight nieces and nephews, Scott (Laura) Bohls of Watertown, SD, Todd (Brooke) Bohls of Perham, MN, Sara (James) Pietz of Watertown, SD, Michelle (Ben) VanZante of Pella, IA, Lana (Giovanni) Marchese of Wayne, NJ, Tamara Parliament of Sioux Falls, SD, Pamela Parliament of Minneapolis, MN and Cody Parliament of Klamath Falls, OR.

Lee was preceded in death by his parents, James and Ardis; and two siblings, Daryle J. Rindels and Dianne J. Bohls; and brother-in-law, Richard E. Bohls.
