Obituary for David Krause
David T. Krause, age 82 of Watertown and formerly of Goodwin, SD, passed away Sunday, May 7, 2023.
Funeral service will be 10:30am, Thursday, May 11, 2023 at St. Martin’s Lutheran Church in Watertown. Pastor Paul Kuckhahn will officiate with Julie Sulzle as the organist.
Visitation will be from 5-7pm, Wednesday, May 10, 2023 at Wight & Comes Funeral Chapel in Watertown.
Interment will be at Lakeview Cemetery in Clear Lake, SD.
Pallbearers will be Jordan Pierce, Katie Christensen, Tony Krause, Kyle Krause, Brett Brennan and Joe Brennan.
David Theodore Krause was born July 11, 1940 in Watertown, South Dakota to Roy Otto and Martha Emelia (Tesch) Krause. He grew up on the family farm near Bemis, South Dakota.
David married Pamela Joyce Lupinek on June 6, 1964 at St. Peter’s Lutheran Church in Goodwin, South Dakota. The couple lived near Bemis for 53 years. David farmed his entire life.
He enjoyed caring for the land, especially his lawn. He also enjoyed spending time with family and friends.
David and Pamela were members of St. Martin’s Lutheran Church in Watertown.
Grateful for having shared in David’s life are his children, Mark (Tammy) Krause of Watertown, SD, Duane Krause of Ft. Pierre, SD, Darlene Pierce of Pierre, SD, Angie (Lon) Meseberg of Goodwin, SD and Lori Boschee of Eureka, SD; ten grandchildren; and numerous great-grandchildren; his sisters-in-law, Janice Hubbartt of Watertown, SD and Judy Gapp of South Shore, SD; and brother-in-law, Jim (Penny) Lupinek of Olympia, WA.
David was preceded in death by his wife, Pamela who passed away October 9, 2017; his baby daughter, Pamela; his parents, Roy and Martha Krause; his sister, Maxine Hanson; and brothers, Clinton Krause and Laurence Krause.
