Obituary for Dean W. Jordan

Dean W. Jordan, age 79, of Watertown, SD, passed away from Covid on Friday, December 25, 2020.

A Celebration of Dean's life will be from 4-7:00 p.m. Tuesday, December 29, 2020 at the Wight & Comes Funeral Chapel in Watertown. A private burial at Mt. Hope will be at a later date. There will be no other services.

Dean William Jordan was born March 1, 1941 to Lyle and Mildred (Pottratz) Jordan in Watertown, South Dakota. He was raised in Watertown and graduated from Watertown Senior High School in 1959. After graduation he joined the U.S. Navy for 4 years. He was stationed in Yokoska, Japan for 2 1/2 years and state side the remaining 1 1/2 years. After returning from the Navy he worked at the Ford garage for one year where he met his wife, Diane Rossow. They were married on April 12, 1964 and lived in Watertown all their lives. Dean started employment with Redlinger Brothers Plumbing and Heating in 1964. He worked for them for 42 years, retiring in February 2006.

Dean was a member of the Jaycees, serving in all office’s, he was a member of the Cosmopolitan Club, Lake Pelican Preservation Society, N.R.A., Questers Antique Club, Purple Martin Association, where he spent many hours being a landlord to the Purple Martins.

Dean and Diane owned and operated an antique shop "Once Again" for 12 years.

He enjoyed hunting with his dad in his younger days, fishing, woodcarving, woodworking, golfing, and he especially enjoyed living on Lake Pelican with his family.

Dean is survived by his wife, Diane of Watertown; his daughters, Lacy (Frank) Shepherd, Darcy (Neil) Frost; and his son, Mark Jordan all of Watertown; five grandchildren, Justin, Cole, Cori, Lyle and Clay; and one sister, Joan Jordan of Watertown.

He was preceded in death by his parents.
