Deana Dilley, age 81, of Watertown, SD died peacefully in her sleep on Sunday, August 7, 2022, in Fargo, ND.
Deana's Celebration of Life will be 4:00 pm, Thursday, August 18, 2022 at the American Legion Post 17 in Watertown, SD with Reverend Scott Dempster officiating.
(All flowers or like items to go to the American Legion in Watertown on Thursday.)
Interment will be private at Restlawn Memory Gardens in Huron, SD.
Deana Knigge was born on January 2, 1941 to John and Alice Knigge. She was the last survivor of 3 sisters and 6 brothers.
Deana married Gene Scott of Wessington Springs, South Dakota on December 21, 1958. From this union, she had 5 kids, Darrell, Bonnie, Allen, Curtis and Danita.
Deana had several jobs around Wessington Springs, working in the kitchen at the hospital, and at the American Legion. After her move to Huron, South Dakota she worked at the Old Home Bakery where she met her 2nd husband Rodney Dilley. With this union she acquired 2 bonus children, Brian and Nikki.
Deana and Rod moved to Watertown, South Dakota in 1982 when they closed the bakery in Huron. She retired from Old Home Bakery when it was bought by Sara Lee Corporation.
Deana was a great cook, loved spending time with family, playing cards, and going to the casino.
Deana Dilley was preceded in death by her parents; her siblings; her stepson, Brian; and her husband, Rod.
Deana is survived by her six children, Darrell (Patti) Scott of Yale, OK, Bonnie (Chuck) Kozubal of Holliston, MA, Allen (Jennifer) Scott of Watertown, SD, Curtis (Danielle) Scott of Sioux Falls, SD, Danita (Randy)
Gerhold of Fargo, ND and Nikki (Chris) Gross of Huron, SD. She is also survived by 23 grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren, with two more on the way; and several nieces, nephews and cousins.
