Dianne M. Anderson, age 71, of Castlewood, SD, passed away on Monday, February 6, 2023 at her residence.
Visitation will be from 5-7 p.m., Thursday, February 9, 2023 at Wight & Comes Funeral Chapel in Watertown.
Funeral services will be at 10:30 a.m., Friday, February 10, 2023 at the American Lutheran Church in Castlewood with Reverend Tom Christenson officiating.
Burial will be at the Castlewood Cemetery, Castlewood, SD.
Pallbearers will be Jason Stettnichs, Anthony Stettnichs, Jon May, Gary Anderson, Jeremy Anderson and Jake Pearson.
Dianne Margaret (Stettnichs) Anderson was born to Marvin and Margaret "Sis" (Kracht) Stettnichs on March 3, 1951 in Rock Rapids, IA. She grew up in Rock Rapids where she attended school and graduated from Central Lyon High School. While living in Rock Rapids, Dianne sewed at K-Products.
On July 9, 1971 Dianne married Douglas Anderson in Sioux Falls, SD. They were blessed with four children. The family lived in Rock Rapids for a short time and then moved to a farm in rural Rock Rapids. They moved to Harris, IA and Dianne was employed at a nursing home in Lake Park, IA. In the mid 1980s they moved to Hazel, SD and Dianne did sewing at Powderhorn in Watertown, SD. The family moved to Castlewood in 1987 and Dianne worked at Castlewood Assisted Living for several years where she became a Certified Nurses Assistant. She then was employed at the Estelline Nursing & Care Center and retired in March of 2016.
Dianne enjoyed gardening, flowers, sewing and crafts. She also enjoyed putting together puzzles, canning and picking wild asparagus.
Left to cherish her memory are her children, Jamie (Deanna) Anderson and Angela Trautner of Watertown, SD, Bradley Anderson of Castlewood, SD and Christopher (KayLee) Anderson of Lake Norden, SD; her siblings, Jeffrey Stettnichs of Rock Rapids, IA, and Rodney (Nannette) Stettnichs of Sioux City, IA; six grandchildren, Darin Anderson, Sierra Anderson, Kourtney Trautner, Abegail Trautner, Cayda Anderson and Kylie Anderson; and 6 great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her mother Margaret, her father Marvin, and her sister-in-law, Viola (Gertsema) Stettnichs.
