Dienna (Dee) Hoeke
February 16, 1960 – January 7, 2022
Our beloved wife, mother and friend Dee Hoeke passed away peacefully in Swedish Hospital, Issaquah, Washington (WA) on January 7, 2022.
Born to Rudolph Bernard (RB) Stevenson and Carrol Stormo-Brunick-Stevenson-Anderson in Brookings, South Dakota (SD). Dee graduated from Hamlin High School, attending Dakota State College, South Dakota State University (SDSU) and Bellevue College in Washington. Dee married Todd Hoeke after Todd graduated from SDSU and promptly moved to the Seattle, WA area. Dee worked as the Controller for the Syntrix Biomedical firm until her death.
Dee was loved by everyone that she met, and volunteered generously her skills and knowledge to the world and community. She was a member of the Daughters of Norway, Sons of Norway, and a founding member of the Sammamish Rotary Club, and was the Sammamish Rotary President during the Rotary Centennial year (2004-2005). She also played a major role in starting the Nightmare at Beaver Lake Haunted House for the Sammamish Rotary Club, managing the event for over 7 years. The Nightmare raised over one million dollars that the Rotary club used to fund their charitable events. She also volunteered for the Issaquah Salmon Days events. Dee’s hobbies included volunteering, traveling, cooking, sewing, and helping others.
How do you say goodbye to your best friend, soul-mate, wife of 45 years and mother? Words cannot express the sorrow and pain felt inside. Dee was a spirited, life-loving individual and always thought of others in need or help. We believe her goal was to leave the world a better place through her efforts and love. Dee’s passing cost the earth a beautiful soul, loving, giving, and spirited individual – Heaven has been given a great soul.
Dee is survived by her loving husband, Todd, daughter, Ileah, brother Robert Brunick, and sisters Barbara Fritz and Janet Struckman.
She was preceded in death by her father, mother, brothers Edward Brunick and Duane Stevenson.
