Obituary for Donald R. Walsh
Donald R. Walsh, age 75, of Watertown, SD passed away Thursday, June 10, 2021 at Prairie Lakes Health Care Center.
Funeral services will be 10:00 am, with visitation one hour prior to the service, Tuesday, June 15, 2021 at First United Methodist Church in Watertown with Pastor Elmer Brinkman officiating.
Interment will be at Mt. Hope Cemetery in Watertown with military honors by U.S. Navy Funeral Honor team and Codington County American Legion Post 17.
Pallbearers will be Doug Walsh, Steve Nigg, Chad Nelson, Carl K. Umlauf, Carl C. Umlauf and Colten Mitthun.
Donald “Donnie” Ray Walsh was born March 2, 1946 to Leo and Donna Mae (Mitchell) Walsh in Watertown, South Dakota. He attended school in Watertown and in 1965 he was drafted and proudly served in the United States Navy. After his honorable discharge he enlisted in the SD National Guard where he retired in 1979.

Donnie is survived by his daughters, Jodi (Carl K.) Umlauf of Watertown, Jena (Steve) Nigg of Watertown and Kristina (Chad) Nelson of Billings, MT; his siblings, Mike (Gloria) Walsh of Watertown, Danny (Diane) Walsh of Watertown and Jennifer Knight of Sioux Falls; three grandchildren; and his four great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Delores; one brother; one sister; and a great-granddaughter.
