A private memorial service will be held for Doris M. (Schultz) Berg on Thursday, June 4, 2020, at Wight and Comes Funeral Chapel with Rev. Dan Ofstehage officiating. Robbyn Givens will be the soloist accompanied by A.J. Sherrill.

Doris passed away on May 27, 2020 at Jenkins Living Center.

Her cremains will be buried at Mount Hope Cemetery.

Urn bearers will be her grandchildren: Michelle (Berg) Campbell, Robin (Berg) Skolnick, Shawn Berg, and Jamie (Berg) Zastoupil.

Doris was born November 23, 1924, in Waubay, SD to James and Rose (Buchholz) Schultz. Doris graduated from South Shore High School in 1942. She married Ernest Berg on August 19, 1947 in Chicago, IL.
She graduated from Beauty School and was a beautician at Connie’s Beauty Salon in Watertown, SD. Her working career also included Peerless Cleaners and Sears and Roebucks catalog store. Her final and long-time career was in the trust department at Farmers and Merchants Bank, retiring in 1983.

She was a former member of Grace Lutheran Church, served on the Board of Directors, and was a member of Ruth Circle. In 2010, she became a member of Lutheran Church of our Redeemer. She was a member of Elks Wives and Widows. Doris enjoyed many activities such as bowling which she enjoyed for more than twenty consecutive years. She was an avid golfer and was fortunate to make a hole in one at the Clark Golf Course on hole number 7. She also enjoyed camping and fishing in Canada and at the Missouri River, where she caught a “proud angler” walleye. Some of her other hobbies included counted cross stitch, crocheting, hardanger and knitting.

Doris is survived by a daughter, Rozanne Winger of Sioux Falls, SD; two sons, Bob (Rosemary) of Pierre, SD, and Rick (Pam) of Watertown, SD; four grandchildren; and 8 great grandchildren.
Doris was preceded in death by her husband Ernest, her parents Jim and Rose Schultz, three brothers and three sisters.

Doris will always be remembered as a fun loving, caring person who considered her love of family her most important thing in life.

Such a super classy lady. I always loved it when she came to visit Rozanne here in Little Rock. Glad that Rozanne shared her mom's visits with me. I remember one year she was here for Christmas and she and Rozanne came to my house, for dinner. I remember that I gave her a pickle ornament that year. She will be missed. Becky
