Douglas George Neuendorf was born in Watertown, South Dakota on September 29, 1945 to Harold and Marcella (Bauer) Neuendorf. Doug was joined in marriage to Linda Monroe on April 22, 1967 at Holy Name Catholic Church. Together they raised three sons.

Doug served in the National Guard for six years and assisted in the Rapid City flood of 1972. Honorably discharged in 1973. Doug started his career at Fleet Wholesale then transitioned to Pepsi Cola, starting as a route delivery driver then moved on to manager at Pepsi. He retired after 47 years of dedicated service. Still wanting to be out in the public, he worked at Watertown Ford for four years.

With Doug’s outgoing personality and involvement in the community he was well known. He would spend many mornings having coffee and attending local races with friends. Doug would enjoy telling a good story to make people laugh. Doug’s hobbies included photography, high school sports which included being involved with his sons and grandkids activities. Doug and Linda traveled to every state except Alaska sight-seeing and attending many Nascar races. Doug and Linda traveled many miles making memories visiting their kids and grandkids. Doug was an avid supporter of local dirt track races. His other passion was his acreage which he spent many hours working in the yard.

Doug fought a long illness over the summer. He fought the illness until the very end but sadly he peacefully passed away.

Doug is survived by his wife, Linda of 52 years; his sons, Brian (Sarah), Des Moines, IA, Brad (Jennifer), North Sioux City, SD, and Jeff Neuendorf, Mooresville, NC; five grandchildren, Blake, Makenna, Carter, Braden and Dallas; one brother, Kenny (Patty) Neuendorf, Watertown; his aunt, Georgia Rukstad, Watertown; and his nephews and cousins.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Harold and Marcella.

Jeff, so sorry to hear about your dad....he was such a great person. Whenever I saw him, he always gave me a wave or hello and we often times had good visits. I did not realize he was ill - have only been to Watertown to races once this summer but I did notice he wasn't there. I hope that he didn't have to suffer. Prayers to you and your family.
