Elizabeth Irene Rayman “Liz” was born on December 22, 1949 to Donald and Bonnie (Feske) Peterson near Canova, South Dakota. She was raised on the farm, the second of five children, south of Canova. Liz attended a one-room country school by Canova and graduated from Salem High School. She continued her education graduating with an Associate Degree in Nursing from Presentation College in Aberdeen, South Dakota.

Liz married Nick Rayman and to this union two children were born. The couple were later divorced.

Liz started her nursing career in the late 70s as a pediatrics nurse at St. Luke's Hospital. She moved on, in the mid 80s, to become the director of the Aberdeen Home Healthcare agency. She later cared for residents at the Aberdeen Living Center for many years. She moved to the Minneapolis area in the early 2000s to be closer to her daughter. She worked in long term care and rehabilitation facilities in Shakopee and Robinsdale. In 2010 she moved back to Aberdeen, to be near her son, when her daughter relocated to Pennsylvania. She retired from nursing in 2014. She was a mother, first and foremost, but being a nurse was a big part of who she was. She focused her life on being a nurse and caring for others.

Liz loved having Siberian Huskies as her companions. After raising and breeding them with her daughter for years she still lived with a furry friend whenever she could. She also was an avid reader and was rarely without a novel, or two, in progress. Since 2016 Liz divided her time between Pennsylvania and South Dakota being a devoted Grandma, Nana & Grammie.

Liz survived by her two children, Amber (Brad) Rayman-Saul and Wade (Angie) Rayman; her grandchildren, Ella and Alexa Saul and Quinn Rayman; her sister, Ann Stein; and brothers, Tom and Bob Peterson.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Donald and Bonnie Peterson; and brother Charles Peterson.
