Everett Eldon Fisk, 84, went to be with his Lord and Savior on January 7, 2021 at Parkview Regional Medical Center in Fort Wayne, IN, surrounded by his family.
Everett was born November 5, 1936 in a farm house near Webster, SD. He attended a country school house in rural Lily, Lily High School, and graduated from Bradley High School in 1955. He served in the United States Army and was honorably discharged on October 31, 1965.
He met the love of his life Mary at a singles party when the temperature was -20 outside. After dating for two weeks, Mary told Everett she wanted to spend the rest of her life with him. Within two months of meeting they were married on February 26, 1977, and they enjoyed 42 years of marriage. Everett worked as a farm laborer for over 20 years. He was then an Implement Technician at Hamlin County Equipment, and later was co-owner of B and E Report in Hayti, SD. In retirement Everett, enjoyed repairing small engines for basically the cost of the parts. He also went to the family farm to pick rocks from the field with his “putt n die” skid loader.
Everett enjoyed and owned Massey Harris tractors, his favorite being a 44 Standard with a homemade cab that he rescued from sitting under a tree in a field and was able to get it running. He also enjoyed fixing old junk cars. Everett loved to visit with people and he would talk with anyone who was willing to listen, it did not matter who.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Elmer and Ester (Hatle) Fisk, his stepmother, Lydia (VanderMartin) Fisk, wife, Mary (Rogers) Fisk, and sister-in-law, Linda Fisk.
Everett is survived by his son, Edward (Millie) Fisk, grandsons, Ethan Fisk and Jonah Fisk of Fort Wayne, IN; two brothers, Boyd Fisk of Bath, SD and Gary (Yovita) Fisk of Shoreline, WA; a step-sister, Elaine (Larry) Gilbertson, of rural Webster, SD; and his best friend, Melinda Halfaday of Watertown, SD.
