Obituary for Gene Page
Gene Page, age 93, of Watertown and formerly of Henry, SD passed away Thursday, July 6, 2023 in Roslyn, SD.
Funeral services will be 10:30am, Wednesday, July 12, 2023, at Wight & Comes Funeral Chapel in Watertown. Reverend Jim Biswell will officiate with music by Peggy Biswell.
Visitation will be 5-7:00pm, Tuesday, July 11, 2023 at Wight & Comes Funeral Chapel in Watertown.
Interment will be at Mt. Hope Cemetery in Watertown.
Gene Ward Page was born December 9, 1929 in Clark County, South Dakota to Leo E. and Miriam C. (Carr) Page. He grew up on a farm northeast of Henry, South Dakota. Gene served in the U.S. Army from 1951 to 1953 when he was honorably discharged. After serving overseas in Germany, he married Lila McDonald on May 29, 1954 in Clinton, Illinois. The couple lived in Illinois for several years before moving back to the farm near Henry. Gene farmed until moving to Watertown, South Dakota in 1980 where he was employed at Medallion Homes until retiring in 1991.
Gene enjoyed gardening, woodworking and making ceramic tiles.
Gene is survived by his children, Kirby (June) Page of Iroquois, SD, Tom (Peggy) Page of Colman, SD, Tim (Lori) Page of Brookings, SD, Kelly German of Watertown, SD and David (Denise) Page of Big Stone, SD; numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his son, Curt; his brothers, Glen, Virgil, Vern and Bill; his sisters, Joyce, Donna, Carol and Leone; and son-in-law, Ron German.
