Obituary

Hazel A. Stein, 94, of Watertown, SD, passed away on Tuesday, August 11, 2020 at Jenkins Living Center.

Private family services will be on Friday, August 14, 2020 at Wight & Comes Funeral Chapel in Watertown with Pastor Paul Janke officiating.

Hazel's services will be recorded and posted on her obituary page on the funeral home website when available.

Interment will be at Mount Hope Cemetery in Watertown.

Pallbearers will be Don, Linda, Ricky and Corey Ragels, Lucinda "Cindy" Stein Carney and Rob Carney.

Hazel Arlene Stein was born on August 25, 1925 to Herbert and Cora (Robbins) Mussetter in Sisseton, SD. She grew up in Sisseton where she attended school, graduating from Sisseton High School in 1943. She moved to Minneapolis, MN after graduation where she met Clifford Stein. On June 21, 1952 Hazel and Clifford were married in Minneapolis, MN. In 1956, they moved to Watertown. Hazel was a sales clerk at JC Penney for 25 years and then retired. Her beloved husband, Clifford, passed away on February 21, 2007.

Hazel was a member of St. Martin's Lutheran Church, Ladies Club and Red Hat Society. She enjoyed playing Pinochle at the Senior Citizens Center, ballroom and square dancing, embroidery, cooking, and volunteering at GSI Thrift Store.

Hazel is survived by her two daughters, Lucinda "Cindy" (Rob) Stein Carney of Grand Junction, CO, and Linda (Don) Ragels of Watertown, SD; four grandchildren, Melanie McFarland, Justine Fritzel, Ricky and Corey Ragels; two great-grandchildren, Jenny Rich and James Fritzel; and three great-great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her infant son, John Clifford Stein; her husband, Clifford Stein; and her siblings, Lawrence, Lynn and Clifford Mussetter, Ida Lanie, Susie Burns and Lillian Yates.
