Obituary for Idella "Dolly" DeWall
Idella "Dolly" DeWall, 98, of Lake Norden, SD, formerly of Watertown, passed away on Tuesday, October 15, 2019 at Avantara Lake Norden.
Visitation will be from 10:00-11:00 a.m., with the funeral service to follow at 11:00 a.m. on Monday, October 21, 2019 at the Wight & Comes Funeral Chapel in Watertown. Pastor Jerod Jordan will officiate. Judy Everson will be the soloist accompanied by A.J. Sherrill.
Burial will be at Mount Hope Cemetery Watertown, SD.
Idella Lenora DeWall was born to Andrew and Laura (Anderson) Ulven on April 7, 1921 on a farm near Thomas, SD. She was the second to the oldest of 16 children. Dolly attended country school until the eighth grade.
On August 8, 1945 she married Clarence DeWall in Ogden, UT. The couple lived in Watertown and had two children, Gary and Gloria. Dolly was a hard worker and worked in the laundry department at the Memorial Hospital in Watertown until her retirement.
She was a member of Grace Lutheran Church. Dolly enjoyed visiting with her many friends. She especially enjoyed her Sunday drives with Clarence.
Dolly is survived by her son, Gary (Cheryl) DeWall of Crooks, SD; her grandson, Chad DeWall of Watertown; her granddaughters, Colleen DeWall of Tea, SD, Lisa (Joe) Burghart of Hayti, SD and Patty (Arne) Anderson of Watertown, SD; a son-in-law, Roland Small of South Shore, SD; her siblings, Verneda Wolff of Aberdeen, SD and Sydney Ulven of Granite Falls, MN; and 11 great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Clarence; her daughter, Gloria Small; and an infant great-granddaughter, Sierra.
