Obituary for James Harvey "Jim" Crockwell

James H. "Jim" Crockwell, 51, of Watertown, SD, passed away on Wednesday, July 17, 2019 at his residence.

Memorial services will be at 11:30 a.m., with visitation for one hour prior to services on Saturday, August 3, 2019 at the Wight & Comes Funeral Chapel. Father Paul Rutten will officiate.

Honorary Urn Bearers will be Erik Mineishi and Robert Korth.

Military honors will be conducted by Codington County Post 17 of the American Legion and United States Navy Funeral Honor Guard Members.

Burial will be at a later date.

James Harvey Crockwell was born on April 29, 1968 to James and Christine (Harvey) Crockwell in Hayward, CA. He attended James Logan High School in 1982 and graduated in 1986. Following his graduation, he entered the United States Navy and served as an Aviation Boatswain's Mate. He was honorably discharged in 1990 and returned home to work for various diverse businesses and industries.
For the past 10 years, Jim had resided in Watertown and worked for Minnesota Rubber, Terex Utilities and was currently employed at Glacial Lakes Rubber and Plastics.

He enjoyed watching the Oakland Athletics, the Golden State Warriors, and of course his obsession and love was for the Oakland Raiders. Jim also loved the bay area where he was born and loved the bay area sports. He was an avid hunter and fisherman.

James is survived by his daughter, Brittany Rose Christensen; his father, James Crockwell, Sr.; three brothers, Geoffrey, Jason and Erik Mineishi; and his grandchildren, Sarah, Bryce and Blake, everyone from California; and his stepfather, Darryl Akana of Watertown, SD.

He was preceded in death by his mother.
