Obituary for James E. "Jimmy" Lenards

James E. "Jimmy" Lenards, age 57, of Kranzburg, SD passed away July 8, 2022.

Funeral mass will be at 10:30 am, Thursday, July 14, 2022 at Holy Rosary Catholic Church in Kranzburg with Fr. Christopher Hughes as celebrant and Fr. Dan Smith as concelebrant. Music will be by Eileen Lindner and LeRoy Mack.

Visitation will be from 4-7:00 pm, with a rosary and scripture service at 7:00 pm, Wednesday, July13, at Holy Rosary Catholic Church.

Interment will be at Holy Rosary Cemetery in Kranzburg.

Pallbearers will be Kyle Johnson, Michael Lenards, Alex Reichling, Tyler Reichling, Paul Friske and Lucas Mack.

James "Jimmy" Edward Lenards was born March 28, 1965 in Watertown, South Dakota to James John and Elaine Mary (Mack) Lenards. He grew up in Kranzburg where he attended Holy Rosary School until sixth grade and then transferred to Watertown High School graduating in 1983. Jimmy attended LATI for Advance Building Trades in 1984.

He worked for Maurice Rick from Bradley, SD for eight years. Jimmy and his brother, Tony established Lenards Brothers Construction in Kranzburg, SD in 1993 where the duo worked together, learned together and used their perfectionism in their work. He also farmed, raised cattle, pigs, and chickens on the Mack family farm. Jimmy was known for his infectious giggle.

Jimmy had a passion for hunting, trapping, shooting, and snowmobiling. He enjoyed reading his many magazines and books about his favorite hobbies. He loved watching his nephews play basketball and relaxing with his nephew, Alex to watch cartoons. He especially loved being on the farm and being with his family.

Jimmy had 3 Godchildren, Lyndsey Bohls, Tyler Reichling and Kaden Molengraaf.

Jimmy is survived by his parents, James and Elaine Lenards of Kranzburg; his siblings, Tony (Jackie) Lenards and children, Kyle (Cecilia), Kristen (fiancé Cody) & Michael of Watertown, SD, Laura (Curtis) Molengraaf and children, Ashton & Kaden of Kranzburg, SD and Leah (Scooter) Reichling and children, Alex & Tyler (fiancé Samantha) Reichling of Clear Lake, SD; his special uncle, Melvin Mack of Kranzburg, SD; and many other relatives.

He was preceded in death by his infant sister, Theresa Lenards. His Grandparents, Edward and Barbara Mack, Frank and Mary Lenards, and many uncles and an aunt.
