Obituary for James Albert "Jim" Redlin

James "Jim" Redlin, 85, of Watertown, SD, passed away on Wednesday, March 13, 2019 at Watertown Care & Rehabilitation Center.

Funeral services will be at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday, March 16, 2019 at St. Martin's Lutheran Church in Watertown with visitation one hour prior to the service. Pastor John Carter will officiate and Rachel Wendler will be the organist.

Burial will be at a later date at Mount Hope Cemetery in Watertown.

Pallbearers will be Jerrold Chandler, Chance Finck, Jeff Chandler and Bill Voelsch.

James Albert Redlin was born on February 9, 1934 to John E. and Hazel S. (Becker) Redlin Sr. in Summit, South Dakota. He grew up north of Watertown where he attended school through his junior year in high school.

Jim went to work farming and was later employed at Watertown Monument Works. He was then the custodian for over 20 years at St. Martin's Lutheran Church and School in Watertown.

He enjoyed leather crafts, riding horse and was an amateur radio operator.

James is survived by his caretaker and friend, Chasity (Jerrold) Chandler, and all his friends at Meadow Lakes Assisted Living and Watertown Care and Rehabilitation Center.

He was preceded in death by his parents, his twin sister, and one brother.
