Obituary for Janice F. Heyn
Janice "Jan" F. Heyn, 75, of Watertown, SD, went to her Heavenly home on Friday, July 24, 2020.
Memorial services will be at 2:00 p.m., Sunday, August 16, 2020 at the Cornerstone United Methodist Church in Watertown with Pastor Luke Smith officiating.
The family strongly requests masks be worn.
Janice Florence Heyn was born to Raymond "Ray" and Helen (Moes) Heyn on February 23, 1945 in Watertown SD. She grew up in Kranzburg, SD, Fargo, North Dakota, and Watertown, SD and attended schools in Kranzburg, Fargo, North Dakota, and Waverly, SD.
Jan married William Brist on October 3, 1964 in Watertown, SD. She worked at Memorial Hospital, Brown Clinic, Shopko, and various other places.
In addition to her love of raising a family, Jan's hobbies were gardening, yard work, floral arrangements, crafts, counted cross stitch, making things, league darts, dancing, cooking, baking and playing card games and other games. She also loved helping and giving to others. Going to Church, reading her Bible, and spreading God's love and word was very important to Jan. She enjoyed reading Christian books, listening to Christian music and other music. Time spent with her family, especially her grandchildren and friends, were especially an enjoyment and treasure to her. She was a fan of NASCAR racing and the Denver Broncos.
Jan is survived by one daughter, Lynn Althoff; her grandchildren, Jamie Conlon and Kabrina Althoff; her great-granddaughters, Zoey and Kyah; and many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her daughter, Lori Brist, her son, Brian Brist, and her grandson, Justin Althoff.
