Obituary for Jeanette F. Mack

Jeanette Florence (Kranz) Mack, age 79, of Kranzburg, SD passed away on Thursday, Jan. 26, 2023 at Prairie Lakes Hospital.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church on Thursday, Feb. 2, 2023 at 10:30 am with Fr. Richard Fox and Fr. John Lantsberger officiating.

Jeanette's funeral services will be recorded and can be viewed on her obituary page when available.

The family will be available to greet friends during open visitation at Wight Comes Funeral Home on Wed., Feb. 1st from 4:00 - 7:00 pm with a prayer service at 6:30.

Burial will be at Holy Rosary Cemetery in Kranzburg following the funeral luncheon.

Active Pallbearers will be Nathan Mack, Spencer Mack, William Bush, Andrew Bush, Mike Mack, Leah Mack, Eric Duenwald and Mark Kranz.

Honorary Pallbearers will be Jeanette’s grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews.

Jeanette was born to William “Willy” and Dorothy “Dottie” (Moes) Kranz on November 18, 1943 in Watertown, SD. She was baptized at Holy Rosary Church and grew up on the Kranz family farm near Kranzburg with 2 sisters and 6 brothers. She attended school at Holy Rosary Catholic School and graduated from Watertown High School.

On July 7, 1962 she married Andrew Mack at Holy Rosary Catholic Church in Kranzburg. The couple farmed near Kranzburg, where they shared many fond family memories! They were blessed with 4 children.
Jeanette was very well-known for her incredible upholstery work. Many people reached out to her repeatedly for her work of perfection. She took great pride in it!

Jeanette enjoyed quiet time on the farm going for walks, caring for her flowers and birdwatching. She had a love for yoga, which led her to meet some of her closest friends. She had a deep interest in politics and loved to express her opinion with whoever wanted to listen! She still resided with her faithful 4-legged companion, Joey, on the farm.

Jeanette is survived by 3 children, 12 grandchildren and 5 great-grandchildren, with 2 more on the way; Marty (JoLynne) Mack of Watertown; Laurie Bush of Belle Fourche, SD; Amber (Doug) Bankhead of Houston, TX.
Her surviving siblings are LeRoy (Linda) Kranz of Colorado Springs, CO; Alan (Linda) Kranz of Kranzburg; Bonnie Fox of Rapid City; Harold (Vicki) Kranz of Watertown; Lloyd (Julie) Kranz of Kranzburg; Jeff (Wendy) Kranz of Kranzburg; Gloria (David) Wyatt of St. Louis, MO; Many nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Andrew, her son Patrick, and her brother Roland (Pink) Kranz.
