She attended Watertown High School, graduating in 1992, and would later obtain her nursing degree from Lake Area Technical College. On September 17, 1994, Jenny married Dale Ries at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in Watertown, SD. Together they raised two children, Brody and Brett Ries. Jenny was most known for her contagious laugh and unconditional love. She devoted her entire life to helping and loving others, no matter what it took. She crowned herself the “Queen of Clean” and loved cleaning and decorating her family’s home. Jenny could also be seen on the farm tending to her flowers, mowing the lawn, and going on walks with her dearly-loved dog Portia. She also took great joy in hosting her friends and family for holidays, meals, and games, and she loved her vacations to Mexico. Her most recent pride and joy was her beautiful granddaughter, Wynona “Winnie” Lynn Ries, who was born on June 10, 2022. Everyone she knew and loved knew that they were loved by her, especially her “Ries Boys.”
She was preceded in death by her parents-in-law Vincent and JoAnn Ries, one aunt, Liz Knudson, paternal grandparents Judd and Tootie Muller, and maternal grandparents Richard and Madeline Knudson.
