Obituary for Jo Ann Marquardt
Jo Marquardt, age 68, of Watertown, SD, passed away on Sunday, October 17, 2021 at her residence.
Memorial services will be at 10:30 a.m., Friday, October 22, 2021 at Holy Name of Jesus Church in Watertown with Father John Lantsberger officiating.
Visitation will be from 5:00-7:00 p.m., with a scripture service at 7:00 p.m. and a time of sharing to follow, Thursday, October 21, 2021 at the Wight & Comes Funeral Chapel in Watertown.
Burial will be at the Esterly Cemetery, Florence, SD.
The family requests memorials be given to the Boys & Girls Club of Watertown, P.O. Box 833, Watertown, SD 57201.
Jo Ann Marquardt was born to Richard and Patricia (Trahms) Cusack in Watertown, SD. She grew up in Watertown where she attended Holy Name grade school and graduated from Watertown Senior High School. She married Robert "Bob" Marquardt on August 28, 1982 at the Blessed Sacrament Church in Florence, SD. Together they raised two children, Kyle and Robin. Jo was employed in the medical records and insurance fields.
Jo was a busy baseball and hockey mom who never missed an opportunity to sneak in a nap. She had a spunky personality and a vibrant spirit with the ability to light up a room.
Jo is lovingly missed by her husband, Bob; their children, Kyle Marquardt of Watertown, and Robin (Kelsey) Marquardt of St. Louis Park, MN; her sister, Nancy Cusack of Minneapolis, MN; and her extended family members.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Richard and PT Cusack; her stepmother, Pat Cusack; her brother,
Robert Cusack; her parents-in-law, Lavern and Joan Marquardt; and her brothers-in-law, James Marquardt and Ron Powers.
