Obituary for John C. Wiles
Please note location of visitation: Visitation will be held on Tuesday, November 26, 2019 from 4:30 to 7:00 p.m. at the First Congregational United Church of Christ with Masonic Funeral Rites at 7 p.m.
The memorial service to celebrate the life of John will be held at the First Congregational Church of Christ on Wednesday, November 27th at 10:00 a.m. with Interim minister, Pam Hardie and Reverend George Cline Officiating.
Burial will take place at Mt. Hope Cemetery.
John C. Wiles February 12, 1948 – November 19, 2019
John C. Wiles, age 71, died on November 19, 2019 in Sioux Falls, South Dakota with his loving family by his side.
Born in Watertown, South Dakota to C.B. and Vonnie (Balsiger) Wiles. He led a full and happy life, devoted to his faith, family, friends, work and community. John had a passion for hunting, traveling and simple things like playing with his grandchildren, grilling out, sitting around a fire, having morning coffee on the deck, gardening, taking a spin on the dance floor, watching sunsets over Lake Kampeska and being a pyromaniac on the 4th of July.
John had a long and prosperous career as an Attorney at Law. He was purposely dedicated to his community, state and country.
John is survived by and will be deeply missed by his loving wife, Phyllis; children, Chad Wiles and wife Lisa (Lexi and Cruz) of Knoxville, TN, Shannon Bahr and husband Jeff (Soren and Carlin) of Cypress, TX, Amber Nogelmeier and husband Lucas (Sophia and Miles) of Watertown, Shantel Ries and husband Justin (Dylan) of Castlewood and Chris TeKrony (Hudson) of Castlewood; sister, Cheryl B. Wiles and husband Bill Kocher (Crista) of Nederland, CO; mother-in-law, Nellie Larson of Watertown; father-in-law, Emil Wiese of Watertown and extended in-laws, nieces, nephews and friends.
