Obituary for Judith A. "Judie" Lien
Judie A. Lien, age 78, of Watertown, SD passed away Thursday, October 27, 2022, in Sioux Falls, SD.
Funeral services will be 10:30am, Wednesday, November 2, 2022 at Gracepoint Church in Watertown with Pastor Jeff Ruggles officiating and music by Sue and Dennis Heavey.
Visitation will be 5-7pm, Tuesday, November 1, 2022 at Wight & Comes Funeral Chapel in Watertown.
Interment will be at Mount Hope Cemetery in Watertown.
Pallbearers will be Tyler, Burke and Cole Newman, Derek Dilts, Brandon and Eric Lien.
Judie Ann Lien was born May 1, 1944 in Milbank, South Dakota to William C. and Thelma J. (Leines) Huben. Judie grew up in Webster, South Dakota where she attended school and graduated from Webster High School in 1962. She then attended Stewarts School of Hairstyling and worked as a hairstylist in Webster for a time and then managed a shop in Bristol before getting married.
Judie and Larry J. Lien were married on December 27, 1965 in Webster. The couple lived in Alameda, California until Larry was discharged from the Navy. They then moved to St. Louis Park, Minnesota from 1966 to 1970 where Judie worked in toll library at Bell Telephone in Minneapolis. The family then moved back to South Dakota where Judie was employed at Quadee for eight years and then at Midcom for 35 years.
She loved playing games with her family and friends. She also enjoyed flower gardening, reading, crafts and attending concerts.
Judie is survived by her children, Tamara and (Keith) Newman of Worthington, MN, Michelle (Gene) Dilts of Sioux Falls, SD and Garrett (Kim Grangaard) Lien of Watertown, SD; her husband, Larry Lien of Watertown; her siblings, David Huben of Brookings, SD and Jeanette (Dennis) Daisy of Rio Dell, CA; her nine grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents, William and Thelma Huben.
