Katherine Louise Jacobson, the third oldest of seven children, was born June 17, 1920, to John and Lena (Schneider) Korbel on a farm north of Kranzburg. She was baptized and confirmed at Holy Rosary Catholic Church in Kranzburg. Katherine attended Holy Rosary School in Kranzburg through the 10th grade. She completed her junior and senior years at Watertown High School, graduating in 1938.

After the death of Katherine's father in 1930, the family moved into Kranzburg and in 1937 they moved to Watertown.

Katherine worked at the Bartron Hospital until her marriage and in later years she worked as custodial helper at McKinley Elementary School in Watertown. On June 8, 1942, Katherine married Ervin Jacobson in Watertown where they made their home.

Katherine enjoyed gardening and canning vegetables, keeping her yard and playing cards. In her earlier years she enjoyed spending time visiting with her family.

Katherine was a content, patient and kind woman.

Left with her loving memories are her step daughter Correne Chlopkowiak of Watertown, six step grandchildren, numerous step great-grandchildren; her brother Sylvester "Sy" Korbel of Watertown and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.

She is preceded in death by her parents, her husband Ervin on October 5, 1977, a step son and daughter-in-law David (Dorothy) Jacobson, step son-in-law Bill Chlopkowiak, three sisters and two brothers Caroline (Edward) Aljoe, Julia (Searl) Jacobson, Paul (Fran) Korbel, Theresa (Roland) Mundahl, and Leonard Korbel and sister-in-law, Mary Korbel.

A special Thank You written by Kate

This brings a special thank you for things you've done for me
The times when you were patient when you didn't have to be
For the days you guided my walker when it was hard for me to navigate
For the days you spoke louder when it was hard for me to hear
For the times you told me what card was played when it was hard for me to see
For which my thanks are due Next to my love for you
~ Love Kate
