LaFoy Kathryn Lebert was born to Louis and Laura (Bogenrief) Lavin on July 20, 1923 in Clear Lake, SD. She grew up in Clear Lake where she attended school, graduating from Clear Lake High School in 1941. LaFoy was employed in Clear Lake prior to moving to Watertown in 1943.

LaFoy married Marvin B. Lebert on December 10, 1944 in Watertown. For many years, Marvin and LaFoy owned and operated a homestead farm south of Grover, SD. After a house fire changed their lives, they moved to Volga, SD and LaFoy worked as a bank teller at First National Bank and continued to work in the banking industry until her retirement in 1985. Once retired, Marvin and LaFoy became winter Texans. Marvin passed away on January 21, 2004.

On July 14, 2007, at the age of 84 years, LaFoy married Lloyd Tesch. They danced and played cards until Lloyd's passing on February 4, 2017.

All of her life, LaFoy loved to dance and spent many Saturday nights at Tunerville. Big band music was her favorite and later in life, country swing. She was especially excited when she had the opportunity to meet Lawrence Welk and pose with him for a dancing picture. LaFoy enjoyed the Mt. Olive church activities, Red Hat club, and pinochle club.

LaFoy is survived by her children: Gregg (Joy) Lebert of Sioux Falls, SD, Garry Lebert of Balaton, MN, Stephen Lebert of Volga, SD, and Tammy (Doug) Loban of Bruce, SD; 11 grandchildren: Nicole, Culley, Carri, Shaun, Jamie, Shantel, Dawn, Christopher, Matthew, Mark and Mitchell; 20 great grandchildren; her brother, Dallas Lavin of Clear Lake, SD; and her nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her spouses, her daughter-in-law Mary Lebert, her brother Lyle "Jack" Lavin, her sister Geraldine Koenecke, two brothers-in-law, Howard Lebert and Melvin Koenecke; four sisters-in-law, Joy Lavin, Bonnie Lavin, Stella Lavin and Betty Lebert.

A special note of thanks to the Edgewood staff for their loving, compassionate care.
