Obituary for Lillian Maxine Christensen

Lillian Maxine Christensen, age 100, of Watertown, SD, passed away on Friday, July 8, 2022 at her daughter's residence.

Funeral services will be at 11:00 a.m., July 16, 2022 at Cornerstone United Methodist Church in Watertown with Pastor Mark Tracy officiating.

Lillian's funeral service will be live streamed through the Cornerstone United Methodist Church website at www.cumcwat.com

Visitation will be for one hour prior to the services at the church.

Burial will be at the Arlington City Cemetery, Arlington, SD.

Pallbearers will be Maxine's grandsons: Eric Sears, Regan, Aaron and Jordan Norgaard, and Michael, Lee, Alex and Andrew Hendricks.

Honorary Pallbearers will be her granddaughters: Carrie Segura, Lindsay Chicoine and Abbey Schlenker.

Lillian Maxine Christensen was born to Michael and Lillian (Thomas) Bennett on September 23, 1921 near Arlington, SD. She attended school in Arlington, graduating from Arlington High School in 1938 at the age of 16. She married Willmer Christensen on December 20, 1942 in Arlington and were blessed with three daughters, Teri, Kathy and Michele. The couple lived and farmed near Lake Albert. Lillian's beloved husband passed away on October 4, 2002.

Maxine loved spending time with her family and grandchildren. She enjoyed sewing, quilting, baking, gardening and having coffee with friends.

Grateful for having shared in her life are her daughters, Teri (Bill) Sears of Broomfield, CO, Kathy (Mark) Norgaard of Volga SD, and Michele (Alan) Hendricks of Watertown, SD; 11 grandchildren; 32 great grandchildren; her sister, Blanche Mansoor of Spokane, WA; and a sister-in-law, Berdell Christensen of Volga, SD.

She was preceded in death by her parents, an infant brother Paul, her husband Willmer, three brothers Hugh, Lyle and Herbert Bennett, her sister Lorraine Alexander, and an infant grandson Joseph Peter Norgaard.
