Linda was born on May 28, 1945 to Albert and Dora (Nelson) Richter of Summit, SD. She attended a one room school across the road from her house. Linda graduated from Summit High School in 1963, attended SDSU and graduated from the National School of Aeronautics. Linda was employed at Stauffer Chemicals of Richmond, California and later worked for six years at Farmers and Merchants Bank of Watertown.
In March 1966, Bob Lenards called Linda and asked her to a Waverly basketball game. On October 12, 1968 they were married in Holy Rosary Catholic Church in Kranzburg. Bob and Linda farm north of Kranzburg.

She was well known for her burgers, pizza, brownies, salad dressing cake, mac and cheese and so much more…she loved her Pepsi and popcorn. Linda was always a spectator at her children’s and grandchildren’s activities. She was their biggest cheerleader. She would keep score on any piece of paper she could find in her purse. Linda opened her home to everyone and they always had a place at the table, with a snack and drink of choice and an occasional game of UNO. She loved bowling with her friends the past 28 years. She would remind them to just have fun and not worry about their score. She was kind to everyone and encouraged everyone to Just Be Nice! She rarely missed a birthday or anniversary. She mailed thousands of letters to her family and friends.

Linda was a Codington Co. Northside Hustler’s 4-H Leader for 16 years, a 52-year member of the Modern Homemakers Extension Club, Madonna Church Band, Petunia Bowling Team and an avid SDSU & Waverly/South Shore basketball fan.

Survivors include: her husband of 54 years, Bob Lenards and their five children: Jodi (Dale) Loehrer, Kranzburg; Jared (Dana) Lenards, Greeneville, TN; Jill Lenards, Watertown, SD; Jenna (Mike) Wadzink, Kranzburg and Jeff (Amanda) Lenards, Kranzburg.
