Obituary for Linda G. Neuendorf
Linda Neuendorf, age 73, of Watertown, SD passed away peacefully Tuesday, November 2, 2021 at her residence under the care of hospice.
Funeral services will be 10:30 am, Friday, November 12, 2021 at Wight & Comes Funeral Chapel in Watertown with Father John Fischer officiating at the celebration of Linda’s life.
Visitation will be 5-7:00 pm, with the prayer service at 7:00 pm, Thursday, November 11, 2021 at Wight & Comes Funeral Chapel.
Interment will be at Mount Hope Cemetery in Watertown.
Honorary pallbearers will be her grandchildren, Makenna Neuendorf, Braden Neuendorf and Dallas Neuendorf.
Pallbearers will be grandsons, Blake Neuendorf and Carter Neuendorf; family friends, Marv Stavig, Harry LaQua, Dennis Molengraaf, Chris Buelow and nephew, David Monroe.
Linda Gayle Neuendorf was born April 4, 1948 in Chicago, Illinois, to Revere “Bus” and Lorraine (Lindbloom) Monroe. She grew up in Highmore and Watertown, South Dakota. Linda graduated from Watertown High School in 1966. She went Lake Area Vo-Tech and received her degree in cosmetology.
Linda and Douglas George Neuendorf were united in marriage on April 22, 1967 at Holy Name Catholic Church in Watertown. The couple lived north of Rauville, South Dakota where they raised three sons, Brian, Brad and Jeff.
Linda was employed at Midtex for several years and also helped her husband, Doug when he needed help at Pepsi Cola, where he was employed for 47 years. Most of all, Linda was a nurturing and devoted family caregiver and friend.
Linda and Doug traveled to every state, except Alaska, sightseeing and attending many NASCAR races. They traveled many miles making memories while spending time with their children and grandchildren. Linda also loved gardening, baking and playing cards with her dear friends. She will be remembered for her kindness, generosity and soft heart.
Grateful for having shared in her life are her sons, Brian (Sarah) Neuendorf of Des Moines, IA, Brad (Jen) Neuendorf of North Sioux City, SD and Jeff Neuendorf of Charolette, NC; her five grandchildren, Blake, Makenna, Carter, Braden and Dallas; and other family and friends.
Linda was preceded in death by her husband, Doug, of 52 years; her parents, Bus and Lorraine Monroe; and her sister, Barbara Monroe.
