Obituary for Lisa M. Baker

Lisa Baker, age 48, of Strandburg, SD passed away Friday, January 8, 2021 in Sioux Falls, SD.

Funeral service will be 1:30 pm, Friday, January 15, 2021 Tabor Lutheran Church in Strandburg, with Pastor Elmer Brinkman officiating.

Visitation will be 4-7:00 p.m., Thursday, January 14, 2021 at the Wight & Comes Funeral Chapel in Watertown.

Interment will be at Tabor Church Cemetery at Strandburg.

Honorary Pallbearer will be Kevin Krueger and Randall Duerr.

Pallbearers will be David Sossaman, Justin Sossaman, Laura Campbell, Steve Brugman, Christopher Baker and Sarah DeBoer.

Lisa Marie Baker was born June 24, 1972 in Watertown, South Dakota to Doug and Arlene (Rabine) Brugman. She grew up and resided in Strandburg, South Dakota. She was employed at Tech Ord in Clear Lake, South Dakota.

She was very artistic and creative and was a published author, for over ten years, whose pen name was Lisa Rayns. Lisa had many books published including Autumn’s Call, A Destined Death, Wanted Vampire trilogy series, Wrath of the Egyptian Goddess, Curse of the Egyptian Goddess and many more.

She enjoyed being productive as she had strong work ethics. Lisa was an avid gamer and was the best Dr. Mario player as well as a supreme dart thrower! She loved her cat and other pets; she also enjoyed playing cards and board games. Lisa especially loved being a grandma!

Lisa is survived by her children, Christopher (Sarah) Baker of Eagan, MN, Randall (Brittany) Duerr of Clear Lake, SD, David Sossaman of Strandburg, SD and Justin Sossaman of Dubuque, IA; one grandson, “beloved” Rowan Baker; her parents, Doug and Arlene Brugman of Strandburg, SD; her siblings, Laura (Jim) Campbell of Castlewood, SD and Steve Brugman of Watertown, SD; her fiancé, Kevin Krueger of Strandburg, SD; many aunts; uncles; cousins; and friends; multiple nieces and nephews; and her special cat, Mittsey.
