Obituary for Logan Tyler McElhany

Logan Tyler McElhany, 21, of Watertown, SD, passed away on Sunday, June 14, 2020.

Funeral mass will be at 10:30 a.m., Thursday, June 18, 2020 at the Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in Watertown with Father Richard Fox and Father Michael Wensing officiating. Music will be provided by Deputy Mike Morgan as soloist, Jackie Fortin, Julie Kjenstad and Alison Thyen as song leaders and Danielle Holmquist-Holida as organist.

Visitation will be from 4-8 p.m., with a scripture service at 7 p.m. on Wednesday, June 17, 2020 at the Immaculate Conception Catholic Church.

Burial will be at Mt. Hope Cemetery in Watertown.

Pallbearers will be Nathan Tuttle, Sayer Fritz, Bryce Brage, Bailey Neuhauser, Aaron Fox, Trevor Ripplinger, Miranda Breitag and Morgan Hoff.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be given to The Upside of Downs, Down Syndrome Association, P.O. Box 723, Watertown, SD 57201 or the Immaculate Conception School, 109 3rd St. SE, Watertown, SD 57201.

Logan Tyler McElhany, son of Tyler and Linda (Mack) McElhany was born on December 17, 1998 in Watertown, SD. He grew up in Watertown where he attended Immaculate Conception School preschool through the 6th grade, then attended Watertown Public Schools, graduating in 2017. After attending SDSU in Brookings, Logan worked at various jobs including Premier Bankcard and Persona, where he was currently working.

Logan loved his brothers, Kaiden and Bryson, and was very proud of them. He enjoyed family game nights and supported The Upside of Downs down syndrome group. He also enjoyed spending time with friends, hunting, fishing and riding his motorcycle.

Logan is survived by his father, Tyler (Brenda Hanten) McElhany of Watertown; his mother, Linda (Doug Maag) McElhany of Watertown; his brothers, Bryson and Kaiden McElhany of Watertown; his special friend, Kennedy Hilbrands of Watertown; his paternal grandparents, Paul and Laurel McElhany of Watertown; his maternal grandmother, Joyce Mack of Clear Lake; his aunts and uncles, Carmen (Robert) Lane of Sioux Falls, Clark McElhany of Watertown, Todd (Denise) Mack of Aberdeen, Tim Mack of Castlewood, Traci (Lenny) Knight of Watertown, and Leslie (George) Reynolds of Clear Lake; numerous cousins and great aunts and uncles.

He was preceded in death by his paternal grandfather, Richard Mack, and his uncle, Larry Mack.
