Obituary for Lon K. Roberdeau
Lon Roberdeau, age 68, passed away Thursday, July 23, 2020 at his home in Watertown, SD. A Celebration of Life will be 2:00 p.m., Friday, July 31, 2020 at Cloud 9 Bar & Casino in Watertown. Everyone is asked to dress casually and to bring a lawn chair.
Lon Keith was born September 22, 1951 in Conde, South Dakota to Leo and Matilda (Milbrandt) Roberdeau. He grew up in Conde until the 5th grade when the family moved to Doland where he graduated from high school. After graduation, Lon bought and operated Lon’s Recreation until moving to Watertown. Lon was employed as the manager at Cowboy 1 Liquor Store and then when Cowboy 2 opened he moved to that location and managed the liquor store where he continued to manage for 30 years.
He loved his visits from his nieces and nephews. Lon enjoyed watching football and baseball and was a trivia buff when it came to the Minnesota Twins and Vikings. Lon made many friends over the years working at the liquor store.
He is survived by his mother, Matilda Roberdeau of Watertown; his brother, Dan (Carole) Roberdeau of Sioux Falls; his sisters, Joyce Kraai of Watertown and Kathy (Todd) Alwin of Sioux Falls; numerous nieces and nephews; and his cat, Frankie.
He is preceded in death by his father, Leo Roberdeau; his nephew, Cameron; and his cat, Fritz.
