Obituary for Marcia L. Johnson
Marcia L. Johnson, age 65, of Watertown, SD passed away July 17, 2021 in Brookings, SD.
There will be a Visitation from 5-7:00 pm on Thursday, July 29, 2021 at Wight & Comes Funeral Chapel in Watertown.
Interment will be private at De Smet Cemetery, De Smet, SD.
Marcia was born on June 13, 1956 to Donald and Barbara (Janssen) Aalbers in Lake Preston, South Dakota. She grew up in Clark, South Dakota and graduated from Clark High School in 1975.
Marcia married Gary Johnson and three precious children were born to this couple.
Marcia lived in Watertown and worked at various restaurants. She was most proud of her own restaurant, The Pit Stop Café, where she excelled in her cooking and baking skills. She also enjoyed cooking for her family and friends.
Her grandchildren were the sparkle in her eyes and she was always excited to spend time with them. She also enjoyed painting her dad’s woodcrafts, sketching/doodling and crocheting.
Marcia is survived by her children, Derick Johnson of Brookings, SD, Heather (Rusty) Block of Rice Lake WI and Carrie (Matt) Blackwelder of Watertown, SD; 12 grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; and her siblings, Cindy (Steve) Smith of Columbus, MT, Sandy Luke of Watertown, SD and Jim (Jennifer) Aalbers of Hendricks, MN.
Marcia was preceded in death by her parents; her brother, Richard Aalbers; her grandson, Zackary Block; her brother-in-law, Bill Luke; and her partner, Thomas Klapperich.
