Obituary for Margaret Mae Thompson
Margaret Thompson, age 87, of Watertown, SD, passed away Monday, May 9, 2022.
Visitation will be from 11:30 a.m. until the time of the memorial service at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday, May 14, 2022 at Trinity Evangelical Lutheran Church in Watertown. Reverend Paul Krause will officiate.
Burial will be at 4:00 p.m., Friday, May 13, 2022 at the Ortley Cemetery, Ortley, SD.

Margaret Mae Thompson, daughter of Rider and Inez (Painter) Lauseng was born on February 6, 1935 in Florence, SD. She was baptized at the Grace Lutheran Church in 1944. Margaret grew up in Watertown, where she attended school. On April 11, 1952 she married Roy Thompson in Goodwin, SD and the couple made their home in Watertown. To this union, one son, James Thompson was born. Margaret worked as a supervisor at Midcom in Watertown for many years.
She was a member of Trinity Evangelical Lutheran Church. She enjoyed crocheting and sewing.
Margaret is survived by her son, James (Genia) Thompson of Watertown, SD; 3 grandchildren; 12 great grandchildren; her brother, Lee (JoAnn) Lauseng of Watertown, SD; sister-in-law, Della Lauseng of Watertown, SD; and her nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents Rider and Inez Lauseng, her brother Ronald Lauseng, her sisters Frances Clayton, Wanda Fuerstenau, Linda Day, Annalee Kremer, an infant sister, and her husband Roy Thompson.
