Obituary for Marie Elizabeth Mack
Marie E. Mack, age 92, Watertown, formerly of Kranzburg, South Dakota, passed away on Thursday, September 19, 2019 at Avantara Watertown.
Funeral mass will be 10:30 a.m., Tuesday, September 24, 2019 at the Holy Rosary Catholic Church in Kranzburg .
Interment will be at Holy Rosary Cemetery in Kranzburg.
PLEASE NOTE Location: Visitation will be at Wight & Comes Funeral Chapel in Watertown from 5-7:00 p.m., with a 7:00 p.m. scripture service followed by a rosary on Monday, September 23, 2019.
Pallbearers will be Jason Miller, Brian Russell, Ben Russell, Rob Janasak, Jake Killoran and Jerad Ries.
Marie Elizabeth Mack, the daughter of Anton and Mary (Haas) Mack was born on December 21, 1926 in Hamlin County, South Dakota. Marie grew up in Hamlin County where she attended school. She married Richard Ries on October 29, 1947 and he passed away on March 18, 1961. She then married Jerome Mack on October 14, 1972 and Jerome passed away on August 2, 2014.
Marie loved spending time with her family and friends, gardening, canning and needlework, but her greatest joy was feeding her family.
Marie is survived by her children, Jerome (Gloria) Ries of Sioux Falls, SD, Raymond (Anne) Ries of Watertown, SD, Marilyn (Mike) Miller of Minneapolis, MN, Linda (Dick) Perbix of Minneapolis, MN, Rick (Neda) Ries of Castlewood, SD, Cindy (Mike) Russell of Rochester, MN, Laura (Don) Janasak of Rochester, MN, Larry (Julie) Ries of Minneapolis, MN and Nancy (Doug) Linneman of Castlewood, SD; her 31 grandchildren; and 43 great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husbands, Richard and Jerome; and siblings, Elizabeth, George, Harry, John, Katherine, Charles and James.
