Obituary for Mark Hollmann
Mark A. Hollmann, age 64, of Castlewood, SD, passed away Saturday, August 20, 2022 in Sioux Falls, SD.
Funeral services will be 11:00 am, Wednesday, August 24, 2022 at the Lutheran Church of Our Redeemer in Watertown, SD with Reverend Dave Nerdig officiating.
Visitation will be 5-7:00 pm, Tuesday, August 23, 2022 at Wight & Comes Funeral Chapel in Watertown.
Honorary pallbearers will be Mark’s five grandchildren, Dashel, Merritt and Quinn Schonebaum, Hudson and Waverly Ordal.
Pallbearers will be Tyler Gorrell, Jared Hildebrandt, Kane Grajkowske, Chad Ries, Kenny Ries and Eric Moore.
Mark Alan was born on February 8, 1958 in Wagner, South Dakota to Harold and Betty (Putzier) Hollmann. He attended Armour High School graduating in 1976. He then attended Mitchell Tech and graduated with his associate degree in 1978.
Mark and Cindy Schwaderer were united in marriage on August 25, 1984 in Delmont, South Dakota.
Mark worked numerous agronomy jobs and the most recent one at the Castlewood Farmers Elevator. He was a very dedicated volunteer firefighter and EMT for Castlewood.
Mark loved spending time with his grandchildren. He enjoyed golfing, hunting, fishing, shooting clays and dirt track racing events. Mark was an avid Minnesota Vikings fan.
Survivors are Mark’s devoted wife, Cindy of Castlewood, SD; his loving children, Danielle (Phil) Schonebaum of Elk Point, SD, Ellen (Dan) Ordal of Colton, SD and Travis (Amber Benstead) Hollmann of Sioux Falls, SD; his five grandchildren; his siblings, Terry Hollmann of Armour, SD, Lisa (Stan Ruff) Gorrell of Mitchell, SD, Lora (Greg) Heldebrandt of Mitchell, SD, Jeff Hollmann of Mitchell, SD and Lynn (Eric) Grajkowske of Mitchell, SD; brothers-in-law, Delaine Schwaderer and Tim (Val) Schwaderer both of Delmont, SD; numerous nieces, nephews and other relatives.
Mark was preceded in death by his parents, Harold & Betty Hollmann; his infant son, Aaron Hollmann; brother-in-law, Nick Gorrell; and his in-laws, Richard & Lorraine Schwaderer.
