Obituary for Mary Alice Fisk

Mary A. Fisk, age 72 of Watertown, SD, passed away Tuesday, April 9, 2019 at Prairie Lakes Hospital.

Funeral services will be 2:00 p.m., Monday, April 15, 2019 at Lutheran Church of Our Redeemer in Watertown. Reverend Kent Stillson and Reverend Dan Ofstehage will officiate with Robbyn Givens as soloist accompanied by A.J. Sherrill.

Visitation will be from 2-4:00 p.m., Sunday April 14, 2019 at Wight & Comes Funeral Chapel in Watertown.
Interment will be at Mount Hope Cemetery in Watertown.

Casketbearers will be Jim Anderson, Bob Hoover, Jack Pownell, Kevin Halverson, Randy Grimes, and Marv Sherrill.

Mary Alice Fisk, the daughter of James Theodore "J.T." and Alice Adel (Dwyer) Rogers was born on May 13, 1946 in Huron, South Dakota. She grew up in Wessington, South Dakota and graduated from Wessington High School. Mary also graduated from Huron College with a Bachelor of Arts degree and a Librarian Certificate from Northern University in Aberdeen, South Dakota.

She married Everett Fisk the love of her life on February 26, 1977 in Wessington. The couple were married for 42 wonderful years.

Mary lived and worked as a teacher in Eureka and DeSmet, South Dakota. In Watertown she worked as a Librarian and babysitter while raising her beloved son, then she worked at Jenkins Living Center and McDonald's.

Mary was an avid reader. She would always have multiple books checked out from the library and enjoyed her weekly trips to the library. She also enjoyed watching Jeopardy on TV, and going out to eat. Mary was involved in many activities at her church through the years, and enjoyed small group Bible studies. She enjoyed her stash drawer of chocolate.

Mary is survived by her husband, Everett of Watertown, SD; her son, Edward (Millie) Fisk of Fort Wayne, IN; her two grandchildren, Ethan and Jonah Fisk; her siblings, Charles (Paula) Rogers of Sioux Falls, SD, Linda Heavirland of North Branch, MN; sister-in-law, Pat Rogers (wife of Doug) of Arlington, SD; and her nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents; and her brother, Doug Rogers.
