Obituary

MaryEllen Jalbert, 70, of Watertown, SD, passed away on Thursday, September 26, 2019 at Prairie Lakes Hospital.

Visitation will be from 4-6 p.m., with a time of sharing at 5:30 p.m. on Thursday, October 3, 2019 at the Wight & Comes Funeral Chapel in Watertown.

Memorial services will be at 11:00 a.m., Friday, October 4, 2019 at Holy Name of Jesus Catholic Church in Watertown with Father Michael Wensing officiating. Music will be provided by Laura Atwood.

Honorary Urn Bearers will be MaryEllen's grandchildren: Taylor Tesch, Chantal Engel, Caitlin Bach, Kelsee Voelsch and Tannar Johnson.

Memorials may be designated to Prairie Lakes Hospice, Attn: Hospice Dept., 401 9th Ave. NW, Watertown, SD 57201.

MaryEllen and her husband received the Sacrament of Marriage on June 12, 1967 at St. Mary's Cathedral in Fargo, ND. They lived in Moorhead, MN for two years. Then in 1969 they moved to Thief River Falls, MN, where MaryEllen purchased a childrens clothing store. She enjoyed helping the moms and children pick out there clothes to buy.

In 1977 the family moved to Enderlin, ND, it was here she liked best. MaryEllen owned and operated a flower shop and loved to work with flowers, but most of all she enjoyed the people. In 1990 they moved to Watertown, SD and was the floral manager at Econo Foods. In 1994 she was employed at First Premier Bank for 16 years. She was very lucky because all her family lived in the Watertown area. They were able to see them more often, and what fun she had with the grandchildren. Then the great grandchildren came along, then the fun really began. In her eyes, they were perfect little angels.

Survivors are her husband Bryan; her daughter Gaynell (Michael) Johnson; her son Jamison (Jane) Jalbert; one sister Monica (Corey) Brown; five grandchildren, Taylor (Rebecca) Tesch, Chantal (Dustin) Engel, Caitlin (Mike) Bach, Kelsee (Wyatt) Voelsch and Tannar Johnson; seven great-grandchildren, Aubrie, Casen, Easton, Melanie, Harper, Laikyn and Sawyer.

MaryEllen is preceded in death by her mother, Maxine; maternal grandparents, Max and Mary; three aunts, LaVerne, Gloria, and Cathy who was like a sister to her.
