Obituary for Max L. Fleischhacker

Max L. Fleischhacker, age 79, of Watertown, SD, passed away on Thursday, May 19, 2022 at Jenkins Living Center.

Visitation will be from 5-7 p.m., with a scripture service at 7 p.m., Monday, May 23, 2022 at the Wight & Comes Funeral Chapel in Watertown.

Memorial services will be at 10:30 a.m., Tuesday, May 24, 2022 at the Immaculate Conception Church in Waubay with Father Doug Binsfeld as celebrant. Music will be provided by Jill Spindler.

Burial will be in the Immaculate Conception Catholic Church Cemetery, Waubay, SD.

Max Leo Fleischhacker was born to Leo and Rose (Pomrenke) Fleischhacker on May 5, 1943 in Sisseton, SD. He grew up on a farm north of Sisseton and Waubay and attended country school through the eighth grade. On November 29, 1969 he married Diann Lewandowski and they had two sons, Jerry and Robert. The couple later divorced.

Max loved his grandchildren and enjoyed farming, fishing and trapping.

Max is survived by his sons, Jerry (Laura) Fleischhacker of Watertown, SD, and Robert (Vicki) Fleischhacker of Hayti, SD; two granddaughters, Shannon and Casey; two great grandchildren, Zophia and Axel; his sisters, Elsie Fitz of Sioux Falls, SD, Leona (Rob) Parrow of Big Stone, SD, and Gloria (Kim) Jorgenson of Waubay, SD; and a brother-in-law, Dennis Golombieki of Chokio, MN.

He was preceded in death by his parents Leo and Rose Fleischhacker, his twin sister Maxine Golombiecki, and two brothers-in-law Ray Fitz and Karlton Chapin.
