Maxine Ann Czech was born January 2, 1940 to Albert and Loretta (Haan) Endres in Watertown, South Dakota. She grew up and attended school in Watertown.
After high school she worked for Bell Telephone in Watertown. She then moved to Minneapolis where she worked for an insurance company and lived with girlfriends. During this time Marv was still living in Watertown and would ask often on the party line, “who’s coming in from the East?” They dated, she returned to Watertown, and they were married on August 25, 1962.
In their early years Maxine worked for Brown Clinic. After Brown Clinic, she focused on raising a family and working with Marv on the dairy farm business including bookkeeping and cooking meals for the farm crew.
Hospitality was an important value from hosting family and events on the farm including many Dairy Days.
Family time was very important as well as being involved in the church including St. Mary’s Circle.
She loved rummage sales, auctions and flea markets in Arizona with her sisters and traveling to visit family.
Always being available to help her kids was a priority. From taking care of the grandchildren to flying to Philadelphia to help Julie at Christmas time with the business, she loved spending time with her family.
Maxine was known to the grandchildren as Nana; she loved baking banana bars and fudge.
She took pride in her home, yard and flowers. Much family time was spent working together on these projects.
Maxine is survived by her loving husband, Marvin; her three children, Julie Holahan and children, William, Isabella and James Holahan of Elkins Park, PA, Lisa (Rolf) Nelson of Minneapolis, MN and Jim (Angela) Czech and children, Theodore, Samuel and Andrew Czech of Watertown; her siblings, Mary (Mac) McKibben of Veradale, WA, Pat (Lynford) Maag, Bob (Janet) Endres and Barb Kienast all of Watertown, Katie (Ted) Carter of Sioux Falls and Bill (Pam) Endres of Watertown; her sisters-in-law, Maxine Kemp and Barb Endres of Watertown; a brother-in-law, Jerry Zuffa of California; and many nieces and nephews.
