Michael “Curly” Vernon Anderson was born on October 29 1949 in Blue Earth, MN to Vernon and Mary Ethel
Anderson. He attended Blue Earth High School.

He entered active duty with the Army 10/22/68 he was a crew chief and worked on airplanes. Curly did several tours including going to Bangkok and Vietnam. He proudly served his country until 12/13/1971.

Curly met Patty Robbins, the love of his life, in 1975 in Minneapolis MN. In the spring of 1976 they moved
to Watertown, SD and they were married on August 14, 1976. They had four children, Bobbie Jo, Michael John, Vernon, and Patrick.

He worked for Summit Floor Supply building bowling alleys until 1989. He was a jack of all trades and could fix pretty much anything. Curly ran his own business, Anderson Construction for many years before his retirement.

Curley loved motorcycles and loved to rattle the windows in downtown Watertown. He was a character for sure, everyone that knew him most likely have a crazy Curly story. He loved to drive around and check on all his kids in the wee hours of the morning making sure everyone was home and safe. This earned him several Nicknames such as Stalker Dad. He was often lovingly referred to as Cruising Curly he made several trips to the gas station in a day to have a can of coke and a Reese’s on his daily route of friends and family that he stopped in to check on. The guy had a wicked sweet tooth for not having a tooth left in his mouth, it was never a piece of cake always a row of cake. Cookie Man was another name he was referred to by a bakery in town. He also enjoyed having the title Grandpa and loved his 3 grandchildren.

He was a member of the Honor Guard for years and enjoyed being able to connect with other Veterans. He was proud to have served his country and you could tell that by his Veteran hat and jacket he always wore as well as the bumper sticker on his car.

Patty and Curly lived in Watertown until July of 2021. Curly had dementia for many years and Patty cared for him at home until things progressed. We will be reminded of his love, humor, antics, and shenanigans for years to come. A lifetime of stories to remember a life well lived.

Curly is survived by his wife, Patty Anderson (Brookings), his children, Bobbie Jo Anderson (Rapid City),
Vernon Anderson (Jenny) (Sioux Falls) and his children, Gracie and Vernon, Patrick Anderson (Sioux Falls)
and his son, Gage. His siblings, Marcia and Rick Schroeder (Wells, MN), Matt and Peggy Anderson (Albert
