Obituary for Michael Allen "Mike" Veeder

Michael A. Veeder, of Watertown, SD was born on May 19, 1953. He was happily married to Jamie Veeder and was a proud dad and grandpa. Michael (Mike, Mikey, Little Buddy, Big Boy, Mr. Vetter, Cactus) was an exceptional car sales consultant at Sharp Chevrolet. Over his 30 year career he received multiple awards from Chevrolet, Cadillac and GM including the "GM Mark of Excellence." Not even retirement could stop Mike from wheeling and dealing. He was often caught referring clients to a family member or friend.

On March 20, 2023, we lost our husband, dad, grandpa, brother, uncle and friend too soon. Just days after learning he was battling stage 4 cancer, he went to be with Jesus joining his parents, Ozzie and Fran Veeder; his father-in-law Ernie Edwards; and his grandparents, Clinton and Sadie Veeder, Ira and Blanche Wright.

We will remember him as the best storyteller around. He is known for his smile, charm, kind heart, and humor. Life won't be the same without him. We find comfort in knowing he loved us, and that he knew how loved he was.

Grateful for having shared in his life are his wife Jamie Veeder; his children, Gina (Nick) Christensen, Brent (Meagan) Veeder, and Jill (Chris) Hall; his siblings, Vickie (Mike) Marotz, Gary (Patty) Veeder, and Cindy (Gary) Olson; eight grandchildren, Lucy and Ava Christensen, Marley, Sloane, and Breckyn Veeder, Bennett, Oliver, and Flynn Hall; his mother-in-law, LuAnn Edwards; his brother-in-law, Jeff Edwards and sister-in-law, Kriss Edwards; Aunt and Uncle, Jerry and Karen Baldwin; many cousins, nieces, nephews, and good friends.

Visitation will be from 2-4 pm on Sunday, March 26th, 2023 at the Wight & Comes Funeral Chapel in Watertown.

Funeral Services will be at 11:00 am on Monday, 27th, 2023 at First United Methodist Church in Watertown with Rev. Pam Gaikowski and Rev. Bryce Blank officiating. Kari and Missi Anderson will be leading the music and Blair Titze will be the organist.
