Obituary for Milo Junso

Milo Junso, age 87, passed away Tuesday, October 2, 2018 in Watertown, SD.  Funeral Mass of Christian Burial will be 11:00 a.m., Saturday, October 6, 2018 at Holy Name of Jesus Catholic Church in Watertown.  Father Michael Wensing will be the celebrant. Visitation will be 5-7:00 p.m., with a rosary at 6:45 p.m. on Friday at Wight & Comes Funeral Chapel in Watertown. Interment will be at St. Mary’s Cemetery in Watertown with military honors..  Pallbearers will be Stephen Carlson, TJ Junso, Erik Junso, Nathan Junso, Justin Buchholz and Noel Karl. Memorials may be designated to Prairie Lakes Hospice, 401 9th Ave. Watertown, SD 57201.   Milo Gerald Junso was born November 28, 1930 to Hjalmer “Jake” and Esther (Pieper) Junso of Castlewood, South Dakota.  He grew up in the Dry Lake area in Hamlin County, South Dakota.  Milo graduated from Watertown High School in 1948.  He served in the Army National Guard Infantry. Milo married Rosella A. “Rosy” Schulte on November 8, 1952 at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in Watertown. The couple lived in Rapid City, South Dakota where he worked at the Red Owl Supermarket in the meat department and  moved back to Watertown in 1969 where he was employed by Spies Super Value as manager of the meat department. Milo enjoyed playing golf and cards, especially pinochle, with his family and friends. Grateful for having shared in his life are his children, Sheila (Mike Crim) Junso of St. Croix Falls, WI, Mike (Sandy) Junso of Watertown, SD, Brian (Mary Jo) Junso of Prior Lake, MN, Gerald (Rocky) Junso of Watertown, SD and Corinne Junso of Sioux Falls, SD; his 14 grandchildren; his 13 great-grandchildren; and his sister, Jeri (Don) Hoftiezer of Watertown, SD. He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Rosella; his daughter, Sharon Carlson; his grandson, Michael Meyer; his sister Darlene (Vern) Woertink; and his great-granddaughter, Violet Kaye Buchholz.
